One of the first recommendations in Canada’s newest “”’Food Guide for Healthy Eating’ is “Cook more often”.
I found it surprising but also realize how easy it is to become reliant on restaurants, take out and prepared food when we’re busy. We’re making more effort to include our teens in cooking and baking now they’re clueing in that these are life skills they need and want.
It’s more sustainable for the environment and for the pocketbook too but, having it as #1 for healthier eating wasn’t what I expected from the Food Guide.
