Learned the glass lid ways and testing 10oz jars.

First batch didn’t seal because I let them cool down before tightening the bands. For the second batch, I pulled the jars out of the pressure canner as soon as the safety lock released and quickly tightened the rings down. This was also a test to see if those 10oz jars…

Subbing Corn Help

Hi guys sorry for all the posts. Trying to get my meal prep canning ahead before food prices soar. It's not corn season right now. I presume I can substitute frozen corn, but does anyone know a trusted measurement for how much frozen corn I would need per ear of corn? Thanks! by TheMrsH1124

Tomato’s from the freezer

I'm new to gardening/canning. Life got busy and I left my tomatoes in the freezer longer than I intended. They now have some freezer burn in the bags. Are the still safe to use for canning pizza/Marinara sauce? And I'd love tips on how to prevent this in the future. Thanks! by madamezironi

Advice please

I am new to canning so everything is making me nervous lol. I just finished water bath canning some salsa and when I took the lid off the pot I realized that 2 of my jars had tilted, but did not completely fall over. My question is, is this a guaranteed fail? Or if the [...]

Cherokee Wax beans canning recipes?

So I'm growing Cherokee wax beans this year, and I'm super surprised at how fast they're growing. They sprouted in around 4 or 5 days, and a week after planting are already almost 3 inches tall. I'm growing green beans and peas, too, but this is about the wax beans. This is the yellow variety [..…

I recently canned about 10 pounds of potatoes, thought I was doing a decent job of keeping them cool and boiling for 2 minutes quickly, but there is a good potato mush on the bottom of some of my jars. should this be save if I processed according to the USDA guidelines? I also ra…
