Can anyone explain why my Safari desktop browser often displays fonts this way? The same text is visible three times, all layers slightly misaligned. No issues on other browsers.

something something font smoothing...
Any typography nerds care to chime in their favorite font rendering on devices with screens. Currently MacOS (with font smoothing disabled.) and whatever font the Pixel is using is pretty fucking sexy to me. The Adwaita fonts in Gnome 48 are pretty nice too, but the way fonts are rendered in Linux still feels just ok (not great) to me.

I predicted it too (alongside Brexit) but that doesn't stop that particular format to be encouraged tbh. Right now it's using the Ubuntu branding font, which is, huh? #Firefox , #fonts , #Linux , #FontRendering , maybe #fontconfig ?

Hey, does anyone know if there's a way I can disable subpixel rendering – but NOT regular antialiasing – on fonts in Windows 10?

[Boosts would be much appreciated!]
