Première pensée après le film : la Formule 1 s'est offerte une belle publicité de plus de 2 heures. Nom du film, utilisation du logo officiel, tournage sur les circuits officiels, pendant les courses de championnat, belles prises de vues, apparition de personnalités des paddocks, mises en avant via la série Netflix "Formula1 : Drive to survive" (qui suit les coulisses des saisons de F1) aussi bien pilotes que directeurs d'écuries. L'organisation a mis le paquet pour ce film.

Sur la forme, on a donc un film avec des prises de vue au plus près de la réalité des pilotes. Pas de plans "drones" ...

[25% check] F1 2025 season so far – 2 driver changes and some more of the same…

With 6 races or 25% of the season over, this season is off to a banger start. McLaren is the clear car favorites. However, it’s also increasingly becoming clear that it might be the best Sunday car and is not the easiest qualifying car. It really requires the driver to be really on to make the best of it. I still think it’s a dominating Sunday car though.

I know it’s too early, but, Piastri’s off to a great start this season. He seems like such a zen personality. The past few years were dominated by Super Max – very aggressive and brazen driver. However, Piastri’s more my type. He’s calm and just churns perfection after perfection while remaining calm in almost any situation.

Meanwhile, my respect for Verstappen’s driving prowess has increased while at the same time his behavior becomes ever more irritating. Norris, otoh, feels like someone who’s losing his cool under pressure.

I miss Ricciardo 🙂

That said, the Lawson saga after 2 races and now Jack Doohan after 6 races somehow feel like the awful learnings from Red Bull from the lsat few seasons. None of the teams really seem to be a nurturing environment modulo Williams and Mercedes. Not surprising given Vowles is a Toto mentee. 🙂
