Listening to the debut album by Mike Johnson, who spent time in the #90s as the bassist of Dinosaur Jr and was also the primary creative partner as a co-songwriter and guitarist for Mark Lanegan's first handful of albums. Not surprisingly, it sounds pretty similar to Lanegan's 90s work, sad and whiskey soaked, rooted in folk and delta blues and country. Really enjoying it, this record is as good as The Winding Sheet or Whiskey for the Holy Ghost.
