A day of rain β˜”οΈ in the mountains yesterday but that of course didn’t stop us having some fabulous encounters among the wooded valleys 😎

Our first full day in the mountains of the SerranΓ­a de #Ronda with our guests was full emersion mountain #Birding!

Iberian Grey #Shrikes, Black #Wheatears, Blue Rock #Thrushes and Rock #Bunting encounters with Griffon #Vultures a constant companion as Golden Eagles, BonelliΒ΄s Eagles and the first of 2025 Black Kites soared overhead!

We finished the day amongst a Choughnado! With masses of Red-billed #Chough noisily coming to roost!

As our time on our #Flyway wintering grounds in The #Gambia comes to an end we are looking forward to following these 272 White #Storks that passed over us here in The Gambia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡² already on their way north towards The #Straits - we will follow them!

We have now arrived in The #Gambia ahead of our guests arrival and we are meeting some amazing #Birds #Nature and our #FlywayFamily

The long-staying Black-casqued #Hornbill and White-faced Scop’s #Owl among our first encounters alongside commonly encountered species that leave you buzzing with ornithological excitement!

Little Bee-eaters, Red-billed Firefinch and Pied #Kingfishers surround us as Green #Monkeys watch the swirling raptors above.

As we continue our journey we encounter diverse landscapes with very special species to match!

Early morning we were literally part of a group of very cool Fulvous Chatterers among the sustainable huertas, nearby gorgeous Desert Sparrows and on the higher rocky plateaus very curious sweet Desert Larks running towards us like old friends!

Common #Cranes (900+) and White #Storks (600+) among post rice workings here and #Bluethroats (pic) on the edges

3 Black-winged Kites & Hen Harrier were also highlights + last #Bird of the day.... a mighty Spanish Imperial Eagle! 😍

Another #DANA storm has arrived here in The #Straits and some of the resident and migratory #Bird species will now have to sit out this torrential rain for the next two days!

Common Chiff-chaff, Northern Bald Ibis and Short-toed Eagles feeding ahead of the incoming storm!

As well as the continuing passage of soaring migratory #Birds the passage of smaller travellers is also evident now here in The #Straits!

Red-rumped #Swallows and Alpine #Swifts amass among skies full of Booted and Short-toed #Eagles as the bushes and trees are alive with the sound and movement of both European Pied (pics) and Spotted #Flycatchers, #Warblers and more😊

A steady flow of migratory soaring #Birds in front of our guests and a fitting end to their #FlywayBirding adventures yesterday!

713 Booted #Eagles, 253 Short-toed Eagles, Egyptian #Vultures, Black Kites, European Honey #Buzzards, Marsh Harriers, Eurasian #Sparrowhawks, Alpine #Swifts, 93 Black Storks and 14 White #Storks.

To top the day two imm RΓΌppellΒ΄s Vultures cruised overhead
