If you're trying to enable it after installing it, you have to go to:
-> Settings
-> Wallpaper
-> Screen Saver ...
-> Custom

in order to specify that instead of using your live wallpaper as your screen saver that you would like a different screen saver

One slight correction: Jack and I jointly developed the original After Dark (nee Blank) prototype. He created the engine, and I designed the plugin API and initial modules. We’re still good friends. Although the product was modest by today’s standards, it led to a nearly 35+ year career that I’m very thankful for.
