I'm done with corporations and not returning to Discord but I'm still a bit stunned at some of the problems here.
I think "historical" means chat history, what else can it mean, but...why does NO ONE know that??

I set up Synapse via Docker (alongside Navidrome, OpenCloud, Gitea and others) on my homeserver (my old notebook running Debian stable headless), still using SQLite instead of PostgreSQL for now.
No additional port (8448) needed to open, everything runs cleanly over port 443.
So far everything works: encryption, voice messages, stickers, location, image and video attachments, and joining public rooms (e.g. #linux-de:tchncs.de).
As clients I use Element on PC and FluffyChat on Android.

Thank you for all the feedback for the new #FluffyChat icon. I guess my biggest key learning was that the old icon has still a lot of fans. So I will investigate in making it possible to ship both icons and let the user switch it in the app settings :)
#fluffychat will get a new app logo with the next release. The old logo was made by a designer from Brazil I lost contact to in 2018 and was licensed under CC. This new one is designed by myself so I can have full rights.
The goal was also "small rebranding" to make FluffyChat look a little bit more mature, aiming for a more serious association without changing the name. While the name in the stores also will evolve to:
"FluffyChat Matrix Messenger".
