This is the last amaryllis in round two from the bulbs I purchased last year. The next batch will be ready in another month or so. This is Santiago and it has a lovely, light fragrance of berries and currants.

Next up from the 2022 Amaryllis selection is: SAMBA. I've grown this one before and I always love coming back to it.

It's lenten rose season and you know what that means.... time to float them in the bird bath. It's like having rubies and diamonds and pearls floating in your own little ocean.

First round of the amaryllis is at its peak now. Bogota is the tallest amaryllis I think I've ever grown, topping out at 44". It is shown here with Magnum, a dark red beauty with a white blush on the tips of the petals.

Amaryllis 'Magnum' is a new one for me this year, but what a stunning, deep, dark beauty. Probably the nicest red amaryllis I've ever grown.

Three of my Six on Saturday: Viburnum tinus 'Shades of Pink' - Wallflower collection - Camellia sasanqua 'Rose of Autumn' ...and they are all deer proof here in Georgia, Zone 7b, a criteria I must have for most of my clients.

@NancyWallaceGA Can I ask where you source your bulbs? Or more likely you overwinter them? One day when I have a suitable place to overwinter bulbs I’ll give it a shot, but apartment living isn’t conducive.
@CozyCatastrophe I've ordered amaryllis from several places: John Scheepers, Brent and Becky's Bulbs, ColorBlends are recent sources. Some places require that you purchase 3 of the same type of bulb, others you can order individually. They are also available in December at shops like Trader Joe's or garden centers, but I get better selections ordering directly from bulb companies. All of this year's bulbs will be donated to a friend of mine. I don't keep them. #DelinquentGardener
@NancyWallaceGA Very useful list. I also seek out less standard bulbs. This year I had a gift certificate for White Flower farm and that where I ordered three from. Expensive! On the other hand they bring me so much joy during bleak winters that it’s worth it.
@CozyCatastrophe Yes, that place IS expensive. My favorite small-biz for bulbs is definitely Brent and Becky's. Awesome customer service too. I've been ordering from them for about 15 years. I'm glad you decided to INDULGE yourself though!
@NancyWallaceGA Those really are magnificent
@louisffourie Thank you! I've got several more in the bud stage this year. Can hardly wait! They are SO EASY to grow.
@NancyWallaceGA I grew them for the first time this year. A great solace at this SAD time of year.
@louisffourie I can't imagine January without amaryllis now. I hope yours brings some some color and joy.

@NancyWallaceGA @kwheaton 'Bogota' is blooming for me in New England as well. 'Bogota' is a repeat bloomer for me and it's definitely the tallest I've personally ever grown.

I have three others blooming now - 'Red Pearl' (deep red), 'Alfresco' (white turning to chartreuse in the center), and 'Aquaro' (white with reddish-pink striping). All of those are new - 'Bogota' is my first holdover to bloom.
