When I moved here ( #floridapanhandle ) 17 years ago, I never saw Canadian Geese. Now they seem to be everywhere. #countryliving

I got some #mulberry trees started from cuttings this year but far more came up from seeds the birds (mostly waxwings) 'planted' around the yard. I'll be thinking transplant in a few months and we'll see how they compare. Mulberries are one tree that have held up to the summer heat here over recent years. It was part of Spain's effort to #colonize the region, and convert the #Timucuan and #Apalachee Indians to #Christianity. The mission lasted until 1704.
