Fleishman Is in Trouble is a 2019 novel by American author Taffy Brodesser-Akner. The debut novel was published on June 18, 2019, by Random House. It tells the story of a Manhattan couple undergoing a bitter divorce. Brodesser-Akner also wrote the screenplay for a television miniseries based on the novel, which was released on Hulu in 2022. - Wikipedia

Male sexuality is seen from a feminist perspective and a condemnation of marriage as a trap for both men and women, but especially the latter. A very different book from those I usually read, set in a moneyed New York world I have never experienced. Recommended.

#fleishmanisintrouble I’m a year late. I watched the series in small chunks because the emotions were palpable. Today, I experienced the last 2 episodes and have been changed for the better. As a regular human, sometimes I see a cast and think, wow, I wish these people who choose such extraordinary projects were my friends in real life. I’d like to keep you forever because you’ve grown so dear to me.

Fleishman Is in Trouble

Die Handlung folgt dem 40-jährigen Titelhelden Toby Fleishman, der kurz nach seiner Scheidung gerade sein neues und aufregendes Leben als heißbegehrter Single genießt. Doch das findet jäh ein Ende, als seine Ex-Frau Rachel mitten in der Nacht die gemeinsamen Kinder bei ihm ablädt und wortlos verschwindet. Seine beiden Kinder, Solly und Hannah, haben einen durchgetakteten Terminkalender wie Topmanager, gleichzeitig häufen sich die Probleme in seinem Job – und bei den Frauen, die er über Dating-Apps trifft, ist auch nicht die Richtige dabei. Hinzu kommt, dass sich Rachel einfach nicht meldet.
