I think the big audition scene in Flashdance would be 100% better if it was set to 'The Trooper' by Iron Maiden.
Watched ‘Flashdance’ with a mate a while back. First time I’ve seen the film since it came out in the mid-80s.
And you know - yes, the storyline is implausible and the characters are cliches, but it’s loads of fun and some of the dancing is fabulous (although you don’t want to look too closely or the editing is screamingly obvious).
I’ve seen interviews where dancers said ‘Flashdance’ was what inspired them to start dancing.
Best of all is the soundtrack. Some absolute bangers on it!
And the fact that it was a low budget film with no real stars. The studio hadn’t expected it to be a huge hit.

yeah well, despite all the critics hating it, tonight's streaming fare was the 1983 #Flashdance, & i quite enjoyed it ... i mean, sometimes just chilling out with an undemanding cheese-fest is just what the doctor ordered.
bloody hell, 1983, my last year of Uni, the year before i met the woman who 20 years later would break my heart by rejecting my whispered confused secret, sigh.
in my seemingly unlimited naivety, til reading the wikipedia entry after the film, i had thought JB did most of the dancing herself. oh well.
now i feel like tracking down #TheLWord again...
