#shipsaturday The cabin of the Noordster in 2017. To my untrained eye, it's a mess, but an attractive one. The Nordster is a haring lugger built in 1949 and used in the fishing industry for over 25 years. After a renovation, the lugger sailed as an offshore vessel for a shipping company. In 2017 on "Vlaggetjesdag (Flag Day)", an annual festival in Scheveningen, the ship was handed over to a foundation, which, with the help of volunteers, restored the ship to its original 1950s state. The boat has since been converted into a museum and public space, giving visitors a sense of being transported back to the 1950s. The Noordster is moored in the Scheveningen harbor. Volunteers tell visitors about the fishing life and fishing industry and give them tours on the ship. #ship #bandw #bandwphotos #blackandwhite #fishingboat #fishingvessels
