Instead of giving Doug space to fume that his cyncial politicking failed, he should be aasked why, if the injunction was so important, he and his Attorney General left it to the last minute. Obviously they hoped the judge would rule in their favour, leaving the organizers no time to respond.

I note that Doug used this opportunity to repeat his phony "protect Ontario" line. That tells all one needs to know about the sincerity of his motives.

I don't know why this is news. The Ford government has a long record of incompetence and effs up every major initiative it undertakes. The fact that mainstream media always accepts and amplifies Doug's loveable oaf shtick is no excuse. An NDP govt with this record would be pilloried and treated as a joke. But for Doug, it's, "Wow, the Cons are so politically astute they don't care what or how much they f__k up."

I have to admit, I feel some sympathy for grocery stores in light of the fact that the original contract they signed "... never mentioned needing to collect empties./Global News viewed the contract and can confirm that there is no reference to that task as part of the deal."
