A powerful view of Bowen Falls in Milford Sound, New Zealand 🇳🇿

Did you know these falls are 162 meters tall? They are one of only two permanent waterfalls in the sound. Because the surrounding rocks are sheer and non-porous, a heavy rainfall can create hundreds of temporary "ghost falls" within minutes, but Bowen Falls remains a constant, thundering presence 🌊

Standing at 162 meters, this waterfall is not just a beautiful sight; it actually provides the electricity and water supply for the tiny settlement of Milford Sound. The sheer scale of the falls against the ancient, glacier-carved cliffs of Fiordland National Park is a reminder of the raw power of nature in this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Practical Tip: Most boat cruises will pull right up into the spray of the falls, a tradition known locally as a "Glacial Facial." If you want to keep your camera gear safe and dry for the rest of the trip, make sure you have a waterproof housing or a dry bag ready before the boat gets close. The wind in the fiord can blow the mist much further than you expect! 📸

À mi-chemin, Flavien poursuit sa quête en Nouvelle-Zélande

Flavien se trouve à mi-parcours de son périple au cœur de la Nouvelle-Zélande. Chaque jour lui réserve une nouvelle épreuve autant qu’un émerveillement. Une tente montée sous la lune, un matelas dégonflé, des nuits à somnoler sur le siège passager... mais aussi des panoramas de fellfields d’une austérité poignante, où la lumière réveille les pierres et les fleurs alpines.

Loin des itinéraires balisés et touristiques, il gravit des chemins que même sa voiture ne peut plus suivre. Dans ce nouvel épisode, il partage avec simplicité ses rencontres avec des gens simples, des paysages nus, des silences qui parlent et ces moments de doute comme de grâce. It was a quiet and calm sunset. The colors were amazing, totally unexpected. Our house was in a middle of a field, so we could see all mountains around us. The pink sky behind this one was just astonishing.

Był to spokojny i cichy zachód słońca. Kolory były niesamowite, zupełnie nieoczekiwane. Nasz dom stał pośrodku pola, więc mogliśmy podziwiać wszystkie otaczające nas góry. Różowe niebo za tą górą było po prostu oszałamiające.
