By night train -surprisingly comfortable- we reached Oulu, a city in northern Finland, right on the Bothnian Sea.
Fifty hours after closing the door of the apartment in Lima, we opened the doors to our apartment in Oulu. Wow, what a trip!
The first four days were slow. We were happy to have a place where we could arrive and acclimatize to our new home country and a climate so different from what we had left behind. The land was still partially covered with snow, and the waters were frozen…
We jumped right into the cold water aka a very exciting new adventure.
On 31 of March 2025, we set off northwards with our bikes and luggage in a rental car. The plan was to visit houses in search of our new home.
The first night, we slept in the car right next to a laavu by the sea -a shelter we already knew from cycling through Finland in summer 2024.
The sunset was incredibly beautiful, but it was pretty chilly...

Enjoy The Now

When I took this picture, I had no idea that my life would take such a wild turn months later. I guess that’s why we should try to enjoy the beauty of the moment and not get caught up in our minds. We never know what tomorrow will bring, so just enjoy the now.
