I generally am creeped out by films set in 1890s USia, but Strawberry Blonde (1941), James Cagney, Rita Hayworth, Olivia de Havilland, is pretty durn entertaining.

Was listening to the #rewatchables podcast and they covered Sneakers this week.  I feel like I'm one of the few who didn't just fall in love with the movie.  It's very well made, has a great score, and that lineup is hard to argue with.

For whatever reason it just doesn't grab me.. the tech guy who loves computers.. it's in a small list of pop culture I don't fall in line with...and well that's ok.

It is however as timely as ever and well worth a watch.

Hey #Filmstodon if you like Aguirre, the Wrath of God but wish it were longer, and with better cinematography, check out Magellan (2025). Also, fuck colonialism.

My Girl 2 came out in 1994. Guess who finally got around to watching it today?

I was not kidding when i said it can take a very long time for me to watch a film. 😂

Most of the other ones on my to-watch list aren’t quite that old, though.

(It was a pretty decent story, too!)

I #watched 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)… 3.0 STARS! #films #Filmstodon #letterboxd

Just like it's predecessor, The Bone Temple was not quite what i expected.

I #watched Cut-Throats Nine (1971)… 4.0 STARS! #films #Filmstodon #letterboxd

Definitively a primary influence on Tarantino’s Hateful 8. Cut-Throat 9 doesn’t sugarcoat its misanthropy and brutality with smart dialogue and dark comedy.

We had a big conversation about narrative perspective and this film over dinner, so now we’re watching it. A really beautiful film!
