Channel-surfing, earlier, I happened on the end of a BBC4 re-run of a peculiar thing called The Good Old Days, which I didn't understand at all. A kind of music-hall pastiche with the audience in period costume, all v odd.
There was a little music-hall orchestra. When the credits rolled, it listed the music director as Bernard Herrmann.
Can it have been *that* Bernard Herrmann? Does anyone know? The show was broadcast in Feb 1975, so Herrmann was both alive and living in London. But…????
Anyway, that was odd.
