study of Valentina from Life drawing Barcelona session — I wanted to push beyond the figure itself and let the colour do the talking. The bold splashes of, purple and blue aren’t just background noise, they’re part of the composition, part of her movement and presence. There’s something so freeing about letting watercolour go wild around the form.
