This will become more and more common. Big tech employ people to train AI to replace their own jobs, and then tell them there's no job for them anymore.

The government must meet urgently with the Covalen workers.
As a wider point, this is an issue that will become more and more common. People are being employed to train AI to replace their own jobs.
We must resist this disgraceful treatment of workers.
AI being used to cut workers' jobs, so that Meta can invest billions more in AI.
I had the pleasure of standing with these workers on their picket lines previously.

This is blatant victimisation for union activity.
It's also completely ridiculous.
Sonya should be reinstated, this should be condemned by government, and government should meet with the workers and instruct the HSE to treat them properly.
The workers at Northside Home Care will continue to fight with their union the IWU, but this intimidation must be ended.

Northside Home Care Services workers were outside the DΓ‘il yesterday (and out in Coolock today) with their union the IWU to fight for their basic entitlements to pay parity.

Northside Home Care Healthcare Assistants were on strike outside the DΓ‘il yesterday with their union the IWU.
These essential workers provide care daily to about 500 people. They're forced to take action because this government and the HSE refuses to give them their basic rights and recognition as section 39 workers.
Northside Home Care were on strike outside the DΓ‘il today with their union the IWU.
Some of them have worked for 25 years and are currently on β¬15.04/hour, and others who are on minimum wage.
They're getting about 30% less than others doing the exact same work as them.
These essential workers provide care daily to about 500 people.
