Soliciting recommendations:

I would like a portable recording device with very long battery life (4+ hours of recording, ideally 8+). I don't mind if I have to put a very large battery (or a large number of small batteries) into it. My current Zoom H1 is a fine device in most respects but has inferior battery life [1] and I constantly find it running out of juice when I got to make voice memos or make extended field recordings. Certainly I wouldn't trust it to record entire shows straight through, which I'd also like to do. Do you have a portable recording device with superior battery life?
