Er zijn in ons land 52 kinderen verwekt met sperma van een Deense donor die drager is van een kankerverwekkend gen. Dat heeft minister van Volksgezondheid Frank Vandenbroucke bekendgemaakt. De kinderen zijn verwekt tussen 2008 en 2017. Het is niet duidelijk hoeveel kinderen het gen hebben overgekregen, maar wel dat er veel meer kinderen zijn verwekt dan wettelijk toegelaten.
