It was so great to see FernFest packed with people today. Got to enjoy perusing the market stalls and listening to some great music. It really was bigger and better than ever!

The vibrant & diverse #FernwoodCommunity is one of my fave local communities & has been for decades. I attended elementary & jr high schools in Fernwood area during the 80s. I love all the public art, all around this community - there's art to be seen on almost every block. Many little free libraries in Fernwood too. There's also a public community garden at the community center on Gladstone. It is one of the most welcoming communities on South Vancouver Island with a very diverse #BIPOC & #LGBTQ2S population. Many POC families live in this community, including new migrants. Fernwood Square is a multi-use site with many past/present/future free community events & longtime gathering spot for local activists.

There's a large pole in the heart of #FernwoodCommunity Square that's been a popular #indie #advertising station for decades. I remember seeing many flyers on it when I attended elementary & jr high schools in that community in the 80s. It's still a well used local public promo postering spot ☺️
