Owen BieselThe Herders join the Caravan as they arc around Rutile, but the group stops short when they come to the river Vein. The river's wide, marshy banks host mossy willows standing guard and cat-tails buzzing with dragonflies — or did, the last time the Herders' orbit around the city crossed the river here. Now, the banks are scorched and lifeless, and the slow-moving water flashes with an angry iridescence. A few spry teenagers from the Caravan climb a blackened willow and call out that the flashing seems to come from a long pipe that runs down the center of the riverbed, stretching as far as they can see in both directions. Perhaps the soil contamination from the Aerogel wasn't discovered, but planned and expanded.
Not wanting to risk any people or animals, the Caravan is faced with a choice: do they head upstream back toward Rutile and the source of the Aerogel, or turn downstream into the unknown and hope for safe crossing?
metalshadow1909As the Trotzkan officials march along with the Caravan, they realize the route will lead them through the Academy of Alchemy. Many of these officials had been commissioned to investigate the Academy when reports of unethical experimentation were made. They make only vague references to unnatural horrors when they demand the Caravan avoid the Academy at all costs. Even on the circuitous detour the party takes, moan-shrieks rising from the accursed locale instill terror.

City Name – Trotzka
What Stands Out – Scarlus, a red dust, hangs in the air, dusts exterior surfaces, and clings to damp skin.
The Downside – Scarlus coats the lungs of Trotzka's citizens.
The Reason - Verdam, a thick, green gas, has been used to flush respiratory systems for centuries. Now it's running out. Citizens are encouraged to use ventilators to reduce Verdam consumption.
The Search - A new Verdam source or a Scarlus-free territory.
@growfediverse We are 200 Riders. We left the beautiful city of Omelas. it was known for its grand architecture, and was beset by a growing addiction and darkness which took hold of all.
We decided we no longer want to be held hostage to this and took our loved ones and our mounts with us. Even though it felt like we had no choice. It was heart wrenching to leave.
We hope to find others like us and new land in which we can settle and build anew.

I went looking, but I genuinely can't find any active accounts whatsoever. 😐

While dice.camp was suggested several times, it's not what I'm looking for, exactly. Pen & Paper, tabletop games and RPGs are fun and I love them, but I'm talking text-based, back-and-forth, in-character roleplay here!
Back in the day a lot of people used LiveJournal, but there is a GIANT "TwitRP" community on the bird site for most fandoms, especially actively running TV shows. THAT'S what I'm looking for, and all I can find here are vacant and empty accounts that haven't been touched since 2023. 🤧
