Wishing you all talented people a successful meeting. Hope you can keep away your belief systems or political leanings aside and make it better and grow further. For those of us just using Fedi software in its different forms, your political or other beliefs are VERY VERY secondary.

There ARE people watching you and #FediPolitics is one that miffs a lot of people. I can confidently say I’m not alone.

Hence the reason, “Choose your server wisely.”

Examples:

Are you a TERF? Don’t join one that’s about inclusiveness and vice versa.
Are you right wing? Don’t join one that’s left leaning. ..and so on.

Or else, just whip up your own server. That’s how the Fediverse advertises itself - an owner-operator hobbyist network. Otherwise, you’re just left on the whims and fancies of your instance admin. It’s worse if the admin has a history of going on a power trip.

The Fediverse is VERY VERY divided with differing ideologies, beliefs, and political leanings with #FediPolitics or #InstancePolitics being a norm. For those of us watching it from the sidelines, it’s come to the point where we’re just tired of commenting about it.
