I think when I stop trying to escape from the horrors of the world, I start to realize what I’m missing and what I’ve lost and I think maybe it hurts.

I’m still working on tagging my photo library. Some of these photos are tied to memories, some are just kinda cool, but I’ve forgotten some of the context.

There's always food available here.

A #rosella eating an Australian native, but not local, #grevillea gaudichaudi flower. A ground cover that umm, covers ground for around 2-5m. Lots of flowers.

Rosellas also eat the grass seeds.

An Australian native orchid flower, I believe it's a dendrobium (rock orchid or rock lily). Not native to here (local versions are larger and yellow), & often looks like it's struggling, but still has good flowers. My dad gave it to us a looong time ago.

Before you're a king parrot, you have to be a prince parrot - or princess, but this one's a prince.

This wild young fella's going through the change from juvenile to adult, getting ready to show off his bespoke bright orange kit. Females remain almost completely green.

Look, they're just ephemeral fire sprites, gases igniting and moving in the wind. If you also see a dark story, that's on you.

They're not people. 🤷 Our brains see things in the flames that aren't real. Would Freud have something to say about what we see? Possibly.

I thought it was a cool capture.
