En man som uppmärksammats stort i svensk media då han driver sajten Frikopplad skapad ett program med stöd för ActivityPub som presenterades som en ersättare för LinkedIn. It's exactly one year since the Mastodon HOA caused me a mental breakdown by verbally attacking me and falsely accusing me of scraping data into a database (which I didn't do, it was just a single index.html file using a public, existing mastodon.social API). That incident led to the shutdown of Fedi On Fire, a fun project I had. In their eyes I will forever be a "Techbro Asshole".

Still sad about this - not because I shut down my project, but more because of how people can be. I was labeled as a "tech bro asshole.". Time has passed, and I guess I'm ready to talk about it now.

FediOnFire was a hobby project designed to showcase a firehose of public statuses across the Fediverse. Developed by Roni Laukkarinen (@rolle), it aimed to highlight the diversity of the network. Unfortunately, some community members misinterpreted and discredited the project, which led to ugly backlash and resulted in its shutdown.

My project resurfaced in the feed today. My first reaction was a sharp inhale.
I hesitate to speak about this publicly - like a kitten wary of another bite from a bigger dog. The fear of another backlash still lingers.
So it seems someone wrote yesterday an article about one of my past projects, the one I chose to shut down due to harassment in the Fediverse, after it pushed me to a breaking point. Another re-started the discussion on Lemmy.
This time they saw me. They understood what really happened. And for that, I'm grateful.
What tools are there to search the fediverse (across multiple instances) for certain hashtags?
For the short time it existed, #FediOnFire offered this. #FediWall can search several instances, but you have to specify which ones.
