Federal Workers Deserve Better: Keep the FERS Supplement Promise
The so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” cuts a critical leg of the federal retirement system — the FERS Supplement. Anyone who does not turn 57 by 1/2028 will no longer be eligible to receive it. That includes the majority of federal employees who took early-out offers, like me.I’ll miss out on this benefit by just 5 months — after 34 years of government service and with no path back to federal employment. Lawmakers are pulling the rug out from under me.To those still working: don’t assume your pension is safe. It can be changed at any time — and I’m living proof.Please help stop this betrayal.
