Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: Open for Antiracism: Leveraging Open Education to Support Antiracism in the Classroom. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

In this 45-minute panel discussion, we address the question: “How can the open education field engage effectively with antiracist pedagogy?” The Open for Antiracism Program (OFAR) provides an example. OFAR supports California community college faculty to transform their classrooms to be antiracist through the affordances of OER and open pedagogy. Now in its fourth year, OFAR has supported 150 instructors from 40 institutions to learn to adapt and author OER, integrating antiracist activities and perspectives and co-creating materials with their students.

Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: CCCOER Webinar: Updates on U.S. Department of Education’s Negotiated Rulemaking for Automatic Billing. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

The U.S. Department of Education is considering the elimination of a provision that allows books and supplies to be charged as part of tuition and fees as a part of the negotiated rulemaking process. This would require higher education institutions to get student authorization for course material charges, which would effectively make "Inclusive Access" and automatic textbook billing programs "opt-in" for students. Presenters will discuss the implications of this proposal and shed light on its potential impact on students, institutions, and open educational resources. Please bring your thoughts and questions!
