#twDrama #BreezeByTheSea is the first TW remake of a #kDrama I've seen. The first #kDrama remake of a #twDrama I'd already seen was #FatedToLoveYou and I love the #kDrama remake SO MUCH MORE than the TW original. Into ep 5/18 and this one is shaping up to be the other way round.

I dropped #TopStarYooBaek, picked it up more than a year later and found it better than I expected. But this remake is AWESOME - quieter, less frenzied and with much more low-key emotion. The total runtime is only ~50 minutes shorter, but the pacing feels sharper and more lively. Plus, the fact that the 2 leads have been leads together before clearly helps with their onscreen chemistry.
The other BIG difference is geography: one BIG difference - the #kDrama set on a remote Island, the #twDrama shot on Kinmen, an island in sight of the country that almost certainly will one day invade it, as the screenshot shows

@drnya91 . Calling out inauthenticity is not eltism What I remember them savaging most in DYLB was the conducting. Where they got stuck into violin playing most was when assessing several #cDrama

If a Drama makes professional expertise in any field central to the story, it should make a real attempt tobe credible. For example, the #KDrama #FatedToLoveYou was a remake of a #twDrama. The 2FL was aballerina, central to her story arc. The #kDrama cast an actual ballerina, the original did not

@jcurries

LOVE HIM!

My fall back when I need a good JH fix is to watch #FatedToLoveYou which of course I have on dvd πŸ˜‰

I guess it depends what you have access to and what you feel in the mood for right now. Depends too if you want a rewatch or something new.

I thought he was good in the movie #TheSwordsman. And he always surprises me with his comedic chops so maybe #ShineOrGoCrazy.

Day 4: Fave orirginal song

I tend not to notice these things but in rewatching #MyLoveFromTheStar, I found myself humming You Are My Destiny which was used before in #FatedToLoveYou with Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara.

@hobiis

I don't have any #kdrama going right now! I just finished #FatedToLoveYou earlier this month.

I finished the #cdrama
#TheStoryOfMingLan last night in a pretty fast binge. πŸ˜…

The 1995 #AChineseOdyssey movies will be leaving Netflix soon, so i watched the first one this weekend. Think 1990s Mel Brooks comedy on a classic. I can compare to #AKoreanOdyssey , too!

#WinterBegonia is a watch party ending soon. Very good!

#WandeeGoodDay gets too steamy for me to watch often. #ThaiBL

OK I’ve finished my mad binge of #FatedToLoveYou #Kdrama
Lots of OTT acting, absurd coincidences, ridiculous humor, bad character decisions, over-used tropes, tacked-on ending episodes …
I LOVED IT
Even the side characters are wonderfully humanized, and the actors (main and side) are so good that I found myself laughing and crying.

But I think I need more Jang Hyuk. I’ve seen Deep Rooted Tree and My Country. What next?

Now I’m on ep 10 of #FatedtoLoveYou #Kdrama please tell me he won’t have this hair for the rest of the show

Spouse, catching a couple of minutes of Jang Hyuk during my #FatedtoLoveYou binge: β€œThat guy is weird.”

Well, yes. He is undeniably weird. And yet …. and yet… how do I explain πŸ˜‚

"Stop staring at me. I hate it when people stare at me." Says the guy in the neon orange suit.

Kim Mi-Young *really* thought the guy with fancy hair in an ostentatious chaebol blue and white plaid suit was a priest? Really?
