This week we visited the H&M in Nijmegen.
Because the H&M is guilty of multiple crimes. Their business model is based on fast fashion, releasing as many collections as possible of the lowest quality so that people keep buying. The result is that our planet is being destroyed by H&M. Every year, this industry emits 1.2 billion tons of CO2, consumes 93 billion cubic meters of water, and accounts for 35% of microplastics.
In addition, the cheapness of the clothes comes at the expense of human rights. H&M exploits people by forcing them to work overtime, work in unsafe conditions, child labor, sexual assault in the workplace, and intimidation. They also abuse animals for their clothing, killing animals for leather, wool, sheepskin, down, and the hair of exotic animals.
That is why we ask you not to buy new outfits from H&M and to boycott H&M.

Gestern haben wir uns an einer Mahnwache vor Primark beteiligt. Dieser wurde gestern in Bonn eröffnet und hat zahlreiche Besucher*innen angelockt. Mit Parolen, Infozetteln, einem Open Mic haben wir über die Umweltzerstörung durch die Fast Fashion Industrie aufgeklärt. Andere Initiativen waren vor Ort, um auf die Menschenrechtsverletzungen hinzuweisen. .
