Während meinem Aufenthalt auf den Färöer-Inseln bestieg ich auch den höchsten Gipfel des Archipels. Vom Gipfel des 880m hohen Slættaratindur kann bei gutem Wetter das ganze Archipel überblickt werden. Bei meiner Wanderung war das Wetter leider zu schlecht dafür. Im Regen zeigte sich immerhin während rund 5 Minuten die nähere Umgebung.

During my stay on the Faroe Islands, I also climbed the highest peak in the archipelago. From the summit of the 880-metre-high Slættaratindur, you can see the entire archipelago in good weather. Unfortunately, the weather was too bad for that during my hike. In the rain, I was at least able to see the surrounding area for about five minutes.

Cruel Dolphin Hunt – Stop It Now

Another tragic day has unfolded in the #FaroeIslands. Already on 25th August 2025 some 50 Atlantic white-sided dolphins were cruelly killed in #Skálafjörður bay – the very same place where 1,423 #dolphins lost their lives in 2021 in a single #hunt.

It seems that this community within the #Faroes archipelago has not lost its appetite for dolphin meat.
