The chain committed in 2016 to going cage-free by the end of 2025 after campaigning from The Humane League UK, which has now launched a petition in response to what it described as a “betrayal”. George Herd, the chief executive of Farmfoods, made the decision with the company saying it was “unwilling to deny customers access to the good value, nutritious food provided by eggs laid by caged hens.” This claim was made despite the fact that #Farmfoods eggs from caged hens cost the same as Aldi’s free-range eggs. Further, an overwhelming 94 per cent of the UK public oppose the use of cages for laying hens."

I was hoping to get some more #vegan nuggies from #Farmfoods, but the meat-free section was mostly filled with Quorn, most of which isn't even vegan. They didn't have the julienne carrots either, nor the vegan chicken burgers.

Found out that they do vegan #croquettes though! And cheaper than #IcelandUK, too! Also got these cute potato hearts.

Potato spree!

First up, potato fritters from #Farmfoods.

They're very nice, they taste kind of how you'd expect them. Could do with a bit more seasoning, but still nice as they are. Even better with ketchup.

Vegan nuggies at #Farmfoods.

The best nuggies I've had so far are the #Lidl ones when they get them in on vegan week, and I think the #IcelandUK ones were nice as well. #Morrisons nuggies have barely any flavour.

Anyway, I bought these and the #MovingMountains chick'n burgers. I'll let you know what I think once I've tasted them.

They're only £1. I hope they're good!

Their homepage (only homepage, not the other pages) crashed my browser, just warning you! It's nice to see a new vegan brand though. Edit: they've been around almost 10 years, but they're new to me!
