If your only connection to someone was on that site, you've lost them.

I don't really need it, but I'm even more interested in PixelFed now.

Both the megalomaniac proprietors of these platforms chose their short already ubiquitous names not least in order to create this leakage. For those not playing their game, the name for one is now #xitter and continuing to gain acceptance. For the other, I'm still looking for the perfect rebranding. The original platform was easy - #Farcebook
