As a gay of a certain time and place, I have only ever heard of Fanny Cradock, as though some kind of very mythical, very camp entity. Tonight, for the first time, I have seen her - on BBC Four, making manky Christmas mincemeat everything.

Here, for example, she is making in her inimitable way AN OMLETTE into which she has added a feck-load of mincemeat, *and* which she smothered in sifted icing. I want to gag, and I love her.

Fanny, I Want Fanny

Writing Dirty Feed can lead you down some strange avenues, and making some strange comparisons. Right now, I’m reading about Chris Morris and Fanny Cradock. What the hell do that pair have in commo…

Dirty Feed

On a whim I decided to recreate one of #FannyCradock ‘s infamous Christmas recipes from her 1975 BBC TV series ‘Fanny Cradock Cooks for Christmas’. The series fascinates me, not just because the studio kitchen, cooker and pans look so grubby and dirty (including her dirty fingernails) but the recipes are so utterly repulsive. Her mincemeat omelette is a quick and easy cook, so I decided to whip out my pan and try it so you don’t have to. Enjoy!

I’m guessing the #FannyCradock following here is rather less than elsewhere?

For me, it’s not #Christmas till she’s thoroughly chastised Sarah, on the Red Button
