@newsguyusa Whether he does so rests on the distinction between formal and actual responsibility. It is not unknown for someone to take formal responsibility for something that they had advised against but been unable to prevent. The classic case of this is the resignation of #lordcarrington immediately after the invasion of the #falklandislands in April 1982. For him to abdicate would be an extraordinary break with tradition - whereby royals seldom take actual responsibility let alone formal!

New funding will make a huge difference to the wildlife of New Island in the Falklands.

A partnership with the Falkland Islands Government, Falklands Conservation and the RSPB has been awarded £3m to conserve New Island, restore the whole island ecosystem, and make it a safe place for species such as Slender-billed Prions.
