Gower wedding venue Fairyhill unveils brand new wedding concept for 2025 dubbed ‘The Quickie’
Leading Welsh wedding specialists, Oldwalls Collection have expanded their offering and are embracing the latest wedding trend with the launch of their new intimate wedding experience – The Quickie.
Although better known for grander scale, big white weddings, with stunning Welsh backdrops, the award-winning venue collection has now responded to the growing demand for micro wedding celebrations.
The Quickie has launched exclusively at Oldwalls Collection’s highly coveted Fairyhill destination, which is nestled in the heart of Gower, and has seen the venue’s Grade II listed Georgian Lounge undergo a £40,000 transformation, led by the group’s celebrated interior designer, Elizabeth Styles.
Inspired by recent celebrity trends, including the low-key nuptials of Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden, and Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi – along with the Chelsea set seal of approval, thanks to Jamie Laing and Sophie Haboo’s viral nuptials in 2023 – The Quickie offers couples a stylish and effortless alternative to the traditional big white wedding format.
The makeover has transformed the iconic Georgian drawing room into an elegant private dining space for up to 40 guests – making it an ideal choice for intimate celebrations.
In addition, the micro wedding package also features the best in Welsh food and drink, expertly crafted by Executive Head Chef Chris Keenan.
Couples can choose between a 6 or 8-course tasting menu, or a contemporary small plates and feasting-style menu – all complemented by exclusive use of the Grade 2 listed iconic Georgian house, luxurious accommodation, and picturesque grounds that provide stunning Welsh scenery for post-ceremony photography.
While The Quickie is an ideal choice for those tying the knot at a registry office or abroad, couples can also opt to host their ceremony at Fairyhill, with both indoor and outdoor options available.
The micro wedding package also offers couples the option for their special day to culminate with an after-dinner private ‘house party’ in the stylish Georgian house. Alternatively, if couples want to invite more guests in the evening, a larger scale celebration in the iconic K Room is also on offer.
Shakira Obaid, Commercial Director at Oldwalls Collection said:
“The market trends are forever evolving, and we’ve received a growing number of enquiries from couples looking for effortless, sophisticated, and more intimate experiences.
“We pride ourselves on designing our venues to embody the big white wedding concept, which will always be at the heart of what we do, but we’re equally excited to be setting the standard in Wales and embracing the new micro wedding trend for 2025.
“The Quickie is all about delivering a high-quality, effortless celebration that saves on time, cost, and potential family politics without compromising on luxury.”
The package will offer intimate wedding celebrations from just £7,000 and is now available to book for select dates throughout 2025. Couples interested in sampling and setting a date for their own ‘Quickie’ can get in touch via the Oldwalls Collection website.

Oldwalls Gower set to transform into a luxury tourism venue in 2026
This change will allow the group to focus on its two flagship wedding venues, Fairyhill and Sant Ffraed House, while Oldwalls Gower redevelops to appeal to a new market.
It will be business as usual until 2026, with Oldwalls Gower vowing to deliver its 2025 weddings to the high standards The Oldwalls Collection has become renowned for.
The venue will then re-emerge as a luxury tourism destination to satisfy the staycation market and serve as overspill accommodation for wedding guests of Fairyhill, as well as other venues in the popular wedding destination area.
Couples who have set the date at Oldwalls Gower for 2026 and beyond will be offered the opportunity to move their date forward at Oldwalls into 2025, a cost freeze and switch to Fairyhill, as well as options to switch to Sant Ffraed House or receive a full refund. With Fairyhill located just minutes from Oldwalls, Fairyhill is forecasted to absorb the majority of the transfers.
Andrew Hole, Managing Director, said:
“We are conscious of the impact this decision may have on our lovely couples and hope that by providing over 18 months’ notice, they will have the time to carefully consider the several options we are providing.”
Established in 2007 as a tourism provider and redeveloped into a wedding venue in 2010, Oldwalls Gower fast became one of the most popular wedding venues in Wales.
The success of the independently run business proved the demand for a second venue, and the founders made the acclaimed acquisition of iconic destination, Fairyhill, in 2017.
The Grade II listed former luxury hotel on Gower was transformed to include a purpose-built £1 million extension designed to provide the ultimate space for wedding receptions, dubbed ‘The K Room’.
The third venue, Sant Ffraed House, launched in the midst of the pandemic in 2021 as a solution to cope with the pent-up demand. Over a decade of industry experience and significant investment was poured into the project to create the perfect venue, also complete with a ‘K Room’.
Mr Hole continued:
“We injected Oldwalls Gower’s award-winning formula into Fairyhill and Sant Ffraed House to create arguably the best wedding venues in Wales, and we are excited to plough further investment and expertise into the continued success of them both.
With our two newer venues soaring, the time has come to diversify Oldwalls Gower’s offering and explore new opportunities for our founding location.”
From coast to country, The Oldwalls Collection was one of the early investors on Gower to pioneer a thriving wedding community. With Oldwalls Gower redeveloping to appeal to a wider audience, in addition to the projected future growth of wedding venue Fairyhill, the group will continue to have a strong presence in the iconic area.
While Sant Ffraed House, located in the market town of Abergavenny, provides the group with presence throughout South East Wales, both are forecasted for a record-breaking year in 2025.
