(1/2) Hey #MobileLinux folks, I haven't been around the community much in ages now and I have a few question to those who followed development more closely. I found a used #Fairphone4 for cheap and while mainline seems to have barely moved since I left (still the same base features missing for any device except the Librem5), Ubuntu Touch might be a good choice on this device. Unfortunately it had major issues last time I used it (see next post)

Mein Desktop unter Fedora 44 die Nutzung von Linux und Open Source Software mit entsprechenden Messengern und Mail Anwendungen und ohne Google / Microsoft / Apple und mit KI dann wenn ich sie haben möchte ist und bleibt einfach eine bessere und auch Nachhaltigerer und vor allem Selbst bestimmender Umgang mit Informationstechnologie.

Bild Bearbeitung ist mit den zur Verfügung stehen Tools unter Linux gar kein Problem funzt viel schneller als unter Windows

File entpackt, #fairphone4 in den Fastboot-Modus gebracht (Bootloader war schon vorher geöffnet) und ./flash-all.sh ausgeführt.

Nach dem Flashen fragt die Installroutine auch gleich, ob der Bootloader geschlossen werden soll. Vorbildlich.

Und Reboot mit #iodeOS 7.4 erfolgreich. 🎉

Der Installer von #iodeOS unterstützt das #fairphone4 nicht. Also machen wir es auf die klassische Art via Terminal und fastboot.

Heute wird das #Fairphone4 für die liebe @v_d_richards vorbereitet. Ich werde dazu den @iodetech_de Flasher unter Linux ausprobieren.

Derzeit läuft ja @ubports drauf, was mich einfach nicht so richtig abholt in der Funktion und den Apps, abgesehen von @deltatouch

Others might call this a changelog, I call it a shitshow. How this ever got through QC is beyond me. I had neither the funds nor the spoons to just get a new phone at the time, but let's just say having your payment device repeatedly reboot on you while you are standing in line is no fun. (And it took almost half a year to finally roll this patch out.) #fairphone4

When will the Fairphone 4 officially receive Android 16 via OTA? I don't want to have to reflash my FP4 and set it up all over again just to get Android 16 via the community version.

These are snaps off of my pharephone 4. I took a short camping trip in Montauk, which is very close to me, but also very far, like an hour away. And it was the only trip I did alone. I keep forgetting how good it feels to determine where I go and what I do without checking in on others.
