So, I had quite a bit of buffer in Munich to account for DB delays and my first train arrived mostly on time (only ca. 25 min late) so I still had plenty of time to visit the local trains!
Nothing surprising: generous bicycle spaces in regional trains, not so much in long-distance trains in comparison. But a little photo shooting is always nice! 📸🧵

The last leg of this trip was crossing Austria all the way back to Switzerland. I could have taken a direct Railjet Express of ÖBB, but it would be missing the fun of trying WESTBahn, an open-access operator whose long-distance trains boast 20 (!) bicycle spots! This would be my go-to for travel in Austria with a bicycle. Unfortunately WESTBahn services stop at the border.

👉 An ICE from Germany (not sure which model) with 3 bicycle spots in the middle of the train. I hadn't seen that combination before.
👉 Lots of modern regional trains throughout Austria with mixed-use space to put some bicycles on foldable seats. Next to the entrance, step-free, what more to ask? 💯
