Snopes’ fact‑check found the picture to be a fabricated AI‑generated image. Close inspection revealed classic AI flaws: Trump and several children displayed an incorrect number of fingers, hands and faces were poorly rendered, and Epstein’s hair appeared dark brown—contradicting verified Getty Images photos from 1997 that show him with light grey hair. Reverse‑image searches turned up no earlier versions of the picture, and the alleged DOJ document that supposedly contained the photo (“EFTA01660679”) actually held no images. Because of these inconsistencies, the image was rated “Fake.”

While Trump’s past association with Epstein is well documented—reports confirm a friendship that ended years before Epstein’s 2019 arrest—no evidence links Trump directly to the crimes detailed in the DOJ files, and he has faced no formal charges. The presence of a person’s name or likeness in the released files does not imply guilt.
