We are going to require verification in this case. Note that publicly posting verification is optional, we do permit it to be sent here directly in modmail if you wish.
Please read the directions carefully; any deviation or mistake will invalidate your verification, and you may be required to complete it correctly before you post again. The verification should only take a couple minutes to do; the directions are made very specific to ensure people get it correct the first time.
Get a piece of blank unlined paper and write the current full date, the word [redacted—why I'm bothering to protect these peckerheads is beyond me, but I am), and this entire statement: “I am [your username] from Reddit.com”; include all of the words within the quotes, with no changes other than filling in [your username]. Double-check that it exactly matches the spelling used on your account. Couples/groups must provide verification for all parties described in the post; ideally in the same clip, but they can also be done separately.
Record a short, at least 10-second video clip of you slowly crumpling the paper into a ball, and straightening it back out. The crumpling and straightening action must be fully shown on the video, in reasonable quality and good lighting, and the text on the paper must be legible at the start and end of the clip. The clip must show enough of yourself, at least shoulders to knees in a normal standing or seated position, for people to be able to recognize you are who you say you are; don't make it an extreme closeup or obscure most of yourself.
If you have publicly posted photos of your face, you must also also perform face verification in the same clip. Hold up your verification card to fully obscure your eyes, nose, and mouth for a moment, and then slowly move it away; your covered face remain within frame during this entire action, and be fully visible before and after. Face verification is not required if you don't intend to publicly post pictures of your face. For couples/groups, everyone with a publicly posted face pic must do this.
If recording with the front camera, check your settings beforehand to ensure the text is not mirrored; if this is not possible, use the rear camera instead. Do not edit the video in any way whatsoever; if you need to adjust the cropping, length, or remove something from view, do another clip instead.
Verification that is strictly *S*afe *F*or *W*ork may be hosted on either Imgur.com or Gfycat.com, and must be tagged [Verified SFW]. Clips containing nudity are not currently permitted due to lack of any suitable host, and must be tagged [Verified Nude]. We recommend making your verification clip SFW, and verification must not contain any pornographic or excessively explicit content. Post the verification in a comment on your post (not within the post itself); if you have additional photos, you may also include these in the same comment, after the verification link. For example: [Verified SFW] https://i.imgur.com/EXAMPLE.mp4
