When I started my digital journey years ago, I started with #dstar #Icom ID-91,later getting a ID-92, but it wasn't until I got a ID-51 & hot spot that it really made since to me.
I moved to #DMR a few years ago-Picked that up right away, and understood it quickly
I got a early Christmas present of a #FT5DR - Using it for #APRS now, but hopefully more soon

I recently upgraded to a #Yaesu #FT5 #FT5DR HT, so my latest fixation is #APRS beaconing, and finally getting a proper #antenna outfitted on my car, and possibly setting up a tx/rx #iGate.

My Yaesu FT-5DR arrived right on time today - I even got a free Yaesu hat as a bonus...who knew :-) It's currently charging.... the battery was pretty flat - and the manual of course says to fully charge before use.... And that it could take 9 hours to charge.... maybe I should have gotten the drop in charger as well. So I have the new radio, but haven't been able to play with it - it's killing me. #HamRadio #Yaesu #C4FM #FT5DR
Bit the bullet - bought a Yaesu FT-5DR from R&L Electronics for what I think was a good price $409.95 plus tax with free shipping, which I decided to have it shipped even thou I could have gone to the store but I've gotten too lazy to drive to Hamilton... But hopefully I'll have it in a couple of days, and I'll join the group of hams that have #DStar, #DMR & #Fusion
It's on sale until 1-31-23....
