Back towards the end of April, my wife and I went to get checked out for new #glasses prescriptions and order new lenses. I hadn't noticed at the time, but the person processing the lens order had slipped a $30 frame-warranty on my order …an order where I was simply getting new lenses put into frames that I'd bought at least five years prior.

When my #FSA provider processed the claim, they sent me a "this $30 charge isn't covered, we need you to send us a cheque for the non-covered amount, or we'll cut your account off". It was this message from my FSA provider that alerted me to the frame-warranty fuckery.

I went back to the glasses store and got them to remove the charge and refund my FSA card. I also uploaded the refund-receipt to my FSA provider.

Last week, I get an email saying that if I don't send them a cheque for the disallowed charge, they would be suspending my card. Today, I finally got around to calling them. Got a human in relatively short order. Explained the situation. They looked at my account, saw the reversed-charge, and then indicated that the reversal had been applied to the "declined" FSA transation and that my account was no longer facing suspension.

I mean, kudos that it was easily and fairly quickly handling. However, it seems a bit stupid that I had to call in order to prompt a human to move $30 from one column to another column to get my FSA account out of suspension-risk.
