Fox to Introduce New Streaming Service: FS1/FS2 Included but AFL? | AFANA

(Ed. note: this post will be updated as new information is received.) On May 12th, 2025, Fox Corporation issued a news release announcing the launch of "Fox One". The release said, in part: "...FOX One will bring all of FOX’s leading News, Sports and Entertainment branded content together in one dynamic streaming platform. For the first time, cord-cutters and cord-nevers will have live streaming and on-demand access to the full portfolio of FOX brands including FOX News, FOX Business, FOX Weather, FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, BTN, FOX Deportes, FOX Local Stations and the FOX network...". It goes on to add: "...In addition to many other exciting features, FOX One will feature advanced personalization technology that adapts to viewing preferences while seamlessly integrating live and video on-demand content in a cohesive experience. FOX One is on track to launch in the fall ... The latest updates and information about the upcoming service are available at www.fox.com/foxone." More than likely, the launch will not happen in time to affect the current AFL season except possibly during finals. The release was otherwise short of details and while it does say that the "full portfolio" of Fox is included that could mean content from all the networks or only some from each. It also did not indicate which sports would be included or excluded and that might be affected by current contracts. AFANA has reached out to Fox for clarification on that point as well as whether any content on Fox Soccer Plus would be included since FSP was not mentioned in the press release. Fans are cautioned not to draw any conclusions yet about how this will impact US coverage as it might not change anything, or it could be a radical shift. It also remains unclear how the purchase of Australian entity Foxtel by DAZN will factor into this.
