Let's celebrate the first #fig of the season before something inevitably eats it. This is a potted Chicago Hardy, third year. I got it from a local gardening enthusiast. The first year for it wasn't great and I don't think I overwintered it properly. Second year I let it be and it overwintered in the garage. @fluffy but I like to pretend every fig seed is a separate wasp and I'm finally able to unleash my revenge by crushing their tiny bones in my teeth. It's the only justification I have to eat figs. Despite being factually deficient.

(Besides, fig wasp backwards is psaw.gif - difficult to not type as swap.)

Seeing this fig at a store today brought happy #childhood #memories: I used to pick figs from trees at a friend's farm and eat to heart's content while playing in water gushing out of a giant tank. 😊

Wish I could go back in time. 🕰️

(Also, happy I was able to place the fig at a decent spot in the store for this picture. I love how the colors, texture, and shadows came through.)
