You know, I really want to be sad about the presidential approval rating going away. But I'm not, it has clearly been a bit out of lockstep since the internet, and I think it simplifies human thoughts on elections. There is more value on issue polls, and if anything, removing polling will hurt #felon47. Because it will hide the truth from him, it's hard to fight the truth if you don't know what it is.

Maybe hopefully this spineless move from Gallup (because yes it was done completely out of fear, the cowards). Maybe future pollsters will think a little harder about how they conduct polls if our democracy survives this.

Besides, 38 sounds like a bad number, but i actually think it is higher than it truly is. I think a lot of the 38% are in the process of deconstructing and were not ready to say "I disapprove". That's only a net -12 , but the recent elections are swaying 15 to 20 points to the left (even within the dem party).

So yeah, screw the spineless Goblins at Gallup, and if you come back, do better.
