It took a few goes, but this is a reasonable representation of the clip profile made via rubber stamp technology. It's good enough to clean up and get something actually good.
Gonna scan this with a clear background, clean it up, then use one of those picture-to-3D-print variable-density backlight image panels to make it an object, and then extrude it up from the profile until it's the right size.
