A day of firsts, some more welcome than others.

First game of the 2024/5 season was at home against
#Rotherham (newly demoted & one of the favourites to go straight back up). I have rarely seen #Exeter come out like they did - superb team effort all round and a 1-0 win. #ECFC

Other first? I was the first person that needed medical help this year after fainting before the game. Caused by not staying hydrated on a muggy day. Lesson learnt.

Since the Euros finished, I've been to two clubs nicknamed 'The Seagulls' as Exeter City start their pre-season friendlies - Weston-super-Mare #Somerset & Mousehole #Cornwall by the way.

Anyway I though it appropriate that my next video extravaganza involved a Gull - so here it is...a Herring Gull on the River Exe.

I'm not knocking the Grecians here, but I do find it fascinating that a crowd of football fans can block a road with a #SlowMarch on the way to a match and get indulgent nods and smiles, but if they were calling for clean air, better insulation in a time of #FuelPoverty and #ClimateCrisis or an end to the bombing of Gaza there would be immediate calls to lock them up for the disruption they're causing.

A great evening out under the lights and at the last 2023 game against top of the league team, Portsmouth. I think if you’d asked most Exeter City fans before the game, the majority would have said they’d settle for a draw. And that’s what we got.

City played well and there’s hope for 2024. Onwards.

At last! Exeter City break their run of not winning by winning the home Boxing Day match against Wycombe. Great result and the Big Bank’s toddler section were happier. Here’s hope we rebuild our league position in 2024.

I went to this 'friendly' pre-season game yesterday.

Torquay were better than Exeter BUT it was as Gary Caldwell says. Torquay's tackles were late and hard. If City go back there next year, I won't be going. I'll donate the ticket money and money I spent locally to Exeter. There was no respect shown at all.

I went to a pre-season friendly between Exeter City and Taunton Town last night. City won 0-3 but I’m not sure that’s important as it’s all about shaking down the team and new players settling in etc - both objectives, met.

An added bonus was a Jersey Tiger Moth that landed in the stand!
