Photo Essay - Winds of the Mustang
https://ewenbell.com/editorial/Winds+of+The+Mustang

"This essay is inspired by my last sunset in the Lower Mustang. The geology of this region is shaped by wind and water, turning stone into dust. The beautiful carvings of Tibetan prayers etched into tablets, and placed at chorten, are only temporary. That is the nature of our existence."

Photo Essay - Golden Bhaktapur
https://ewenbell.com/editorial/Golden+Bhaktapur

"In the early light of a winters morning the Durbar Square in Bhaktapur is usually pretty quiet, but filled with long shadows. Most tourists don't arrive here until later in the morning, so for a little while we get to enjoy Bhaktapur without the mayhem and chaos. The ancient streets are a gentle space for taking photos with the locals."

I still have a bunch of pics to share from this trip but am struggling to remember which ones I already posted. Maybe that's a sign that I need to let this story rest. It's been a really difficult journey, and has tested my inner strength. So many wobbly bits. Not the photography though, that has never been easier. Having a simple setup, with a couple of primes and two super tiny camera bodies, has been a treat.

I've had several Himalayan trips with the S9. It's just a great little body. I love it. I have a pair of them now, an 18mm on one of them and 40mm on the other. I keep a 100mm Macro in the bag just in case I need extra reach or to capture a butterfly :)

I charge a battery every couple of days. Very low stress travel kit.

You can see a collection of images from my most recent travels (all taken with my S9 bodies) on the following hashtag:

Field Review in Nepal
– 40mm F2 AF from TT Artisan

https://youtu.be/qpXcCWugHZk

I've just spent two weeks travelling across Nepal and this 40mm F2 from TT Artisan has never left my side. An amazingly cheap lens, but delivering immense results. It's the perfect companion to my S9 camera body, but also comes in Sony E Mount and Nikon Z mount. Check out some lovely photos from the Himalayas, and find out why this lens ticked so many boxes.

Views to Nilgiri. I never get bored of this sight. You wake up in the morning inside a simple guesthouse and look out the window to see 7000m peaks looking back at you from across the valley. Just amazing.

Kagbeni. The town in Nepal that most embodies my connection to Nepal. So much has happened here, good and bad. More good than bad.

This village sits around 3000m high in the Annapurna Ranges, on the edge of the Mustang. The women in this photo are young, and they are not from here. They were hired to process manure. They shovel it into bags then haul it into the fields below the village.

They originate from Dolpo, one of the poorest regions of Nepal. It takes three days on buses to reach this part of the Annapurnas from where they live.
