It's a really cool RPG! I can see the Undertale similarities now. The music is banger, the overarching story is pretty interesting, and the humour is great. It's full of that "absurd indie RPG" energy.
The combat gameplay is something I've never seen before. The battle field consists of 5 vertical lanes that your character can move between and jump on. Enemies create vertically-descending bullets on these 5 lanes according to the rhythm of the music, which is an idea for a game that I've had for ages, actually, so I'm happy to finally see someone turn it into reality! There's a lot of ways you can twist the gameplay to keep it fresh, and boy did the devs keep it fresh throughout the entire game. I love it!
Though, I really wish people didn't call Everhood "Undertale if it was a rhythm game", because it is not a rhythm game at all. You don't do anything to the rhythm of the music. It's enemy attacks that are created according to music. Hell, Geometry Dash is closer to being a rhythm game.
